Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen was founded in 1939 as a small sawmill plant. In 2005 it was acquired by Finland-based forestry products company Stora Enso. At the beginning of 2020, Stora Enso sold 100 % of its shares to LEO II. fund. Today, Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen manufactures solid structural timber products, laminated wood, and scaffold panels. With around 110 employees, the company is one of the leading manufacturers of premium timber construction products for structural purposes.

DZ BANK AG served as exclusive sell-side financial advisors to Leo II. fund in this transaction.

The buyer, DEBA, is a real estate operating and management company. It offers real estate property management services. It was founded in the 1960s and is headquartered in Munich, Germany.
