South Indian Bank is a south based private sector bank with a banking history of over 85 years. The Bank has 20 regional offices, 840 branches and 1,313 ATMs (as of December 31, 2016). As on December 31, 2016, the Bank had advances in excess of INR 440 bn and deposits in excess of INR 630 bn. The total capital adequacy ratio of the Bank stood at 11.05% (Tier I: 9.39%).The Rights Issue of South Indian Bank was the 2nd largest private sector bank rights issue in the last decade. The Rights Issue was subscribed 1.85 times (on gross basis) and witnessed robust demand for additional shares from Marquee Institutional Shareholders. The deal was consummated in a span of three and half months from the date of passing of Board Resolution. With this Rights Issue, Edelweiss has successfully completed two equity capital market transactions (Sole) for South Indian Bank, translating in an aggregate fundraise of over INR 9,500 million for the Bank.
