RBI advised Vivatis on the acquisition of a 74% stake in WOJNAR Group as well as the trademark rights in WOJNAR’s ‘Wiener Leckerbissen’

Founded in the 1930s in Vienna by Josef Wojnar, WOJNAR’S started as a delicatessen company producing spreads such as the ever-popular Liptauer. WOJNAR’S employs around 560 people and offers a range of products from spreads and salads to gastronomy, delicatessen and convenience food, generating revenues of over EUR 90m. The company’s strengths lie in its innovation, focus on developments and trends, such as organic, vegan, sustainable and healthy nutrition, and high customer confidence in its brand.

The combination of WOJNAR’S and VIVATIS creates new synergies in the food retail, catering wholesale and consumer segments, and WOJNAR’S will place more focus on ever-changing nutritional trends. WOJNAR’S strong Austrian heritage fits perfectly with the portfolio and mission statement of the VIVATIS Group ̶ from the firm’s location and ingredients to the employees and the broad product range. The cooperation of the two innovative and future-oriented companies will strengthen the domestic food supply, increase value-added power and secure jobs in Austria in the long term.
