UnipolSai Assicurazioni S.p.A. announces that on 29 December 2016 the subsidiaries Atahotels S.p.A. and UnipolSai Investimenti S.G.R. S.p.A. (the latter on behalf of the real estate investment fund Athens R.E. Fund) executed the agreements (closing) entered into with Una S.p.A. (“UNA”) on 25 May 2015, respectively concerning the acquisition, in two separate transactions, of:
– the business unit dealing with the hotel management activity of Una;
– the real estate portfolio used for the hotel business.
The execution of the two transactions took place after obtaining the required authorizations from the competent Authorities and after approval of the debt restructuring of UNA.
The acquisition of the business unit included a consideration of approximately €29m, subject to the usual price adjustments, while the acquisition price of the real estate portfolio amounted to € 259m.
A new national leader is born in the Italian hotel industry, with 43 facilities (business and leisure), 5,500 rooms, and an aggregate turnover of approximately € 120m.
