Fluidra was founded in 1969 by four Catalan families (Planes, Serra, Corbera and Garrigós) with the name of Astral Construcciones Metálicas.Headquartered in Sabadell, Barcelona, it is a swimming pool and wellness equipment company. In 2007 the company became a public company, listing on Madrid stock exchange.Piscine Luxembourg Holdings, the first shareholder of Fluidra, has closed the placement of a package of 10 million shares of the Spanish pool equipment group, representing 5.1% of the share capital, for a total of € 355.55 million.
After the sale, Piscine Luxembourg Holdings owns 22,428,788 shares of the company, representing approximately 11.46% of the company’s capital, compared to 16.5 % previously. In May, Piscine Luxembourg Holdings, controlled by Rhône Capital, already sold 4.90% of the company’s capital, after it had already shed 10.7% in January. The main shareholder of the swimming pool multinational has carried out this latest placement of shares through an accelerated process, aimed exclusively at qualified investors. BofA Securities Europe SA, Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG and JP Morgan AG have been the entities in charge of carrying out the placement of this block of shares, while AZ Capital and STJ Advisors have been appointed financial advisers to the seller.
