Grupo Zeta publishes El Periódico de Catalunya, El Periódico de Aragón, El Periódico de Extremadura, La Crónica de Badajoz, Córdoba, Mediterráneo, Sport and La Grada, while Prensa Ibérica has a network of seventeen regional and local newspapers, including leading newspapers such as La Nueva España, Faro de Vigo, La Provincia, Levante-EMV and Información.
The acquisition of Grupo Zeta allows Prensa Ibérica to have more than 2.25 million daily newspaper readers and almost 300,000 copies per day. At the same time, the group will be able to surpass 25 million unique users and 525 million digital page views per month, according to the announcement.
The transaction is subject to the competition regulator’s approval.
