Scan Aqua is a privately-owned Norwegian company which develops, registers and markets products for the European aquaculture industry. Scan Aqua’s product portfolio includes the key products AQUI-S and Finquel. AQUI-S is a calming agent used during treatment, pumping, transportation and handling of salmon and rainbow trout. Finquel is an anesthetic that is widely used in fish farming during the vaccination process and other handling events that require the fish to be fully anesthetized, such as lice counting.

MidCap Alliance Norwegian partner Alpha Corporate Finance advised the owners of Scan Aqua in the sale to MSD Animal Health, a division of Merck & Co.
